So today there were some hungry people trying to get food. The food was being prepared- less than ten minutes and they'd be able to eat... yet they crowded round the food. They were informed don't worry about queuing, we'll call you when the food's ready- but then different people crowded.
How often do I sing "oh no I'll never let go"? Then how many times do I let go of God's promises to me and believe lies? What about you?

The song is actually "Oh no *You* never let go", which is incredibly comforting, because, like you say we so often confess that we believe with our lips, yet our lives paint a different picture.
ReplyDelete2 Timothy 2v13 says "If we are faithless,
he will remain faithful,
for he cannot disown himself."
How gracious is that?!
I guess the thing we have to be careful about is not being like the Pharisees in Mark 7 where Jesus says in v6 "Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:
" 'These people honour me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me."
